The apricot is a small, golden-orange fruit with velvety skin and flesh that’s closely related to the peach and the plum. Their flavor is almost musky, with a faint tartness that is more pronounced when the fruit is dried.
Apricots are an excellent source of vitamin A (in the form of pro-vitamin A carotenoids), and a good source of vitamin C, copper, dietary fiber, and potassium. They’re also low in calories and high in antioxidants.
Our Apricots are grown, picked and processed with the utmost care. The drying process begins by reaping the fresh, ripe fruit from the trees and partially drying them under the sun. The semi-dried fruits are then pitted by hand, mechanically washed, and dried in the oven to maintain the optimum moisture content. No sulfur dioxide or sulfates are used in the drying of this fruit. After drying they are inspected for any foreign material or defects and then shock frozen.
