Tricolor Quinoa is a combination of red, white and black quinoa. It has a slightly nutty, earthy flavor and a lightly crunchy texture. It is high in protein and has more fiber and antioxidants than white quinoa. Tricolor is also gluten free and offers a beautiful array of colors.
Quinoa is rich in vitamins E, B2, B6, folic acid, manganese, copper, iron, potassium, and magnesium.
Great as a high-protein breakfast, mixed with honey, almonds, or berries, or as a grain base for any savory dish.
To Cook: Boil 1 cup quinoa with 1 ½ cups water or broth and optional ½ tsp salt. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Fluff and serve. (Cooks up 3 times its original volume.)
For best results, soak quinoa in water for a few hours or rinse thoroughly in ample running water.
