FAQ's

What packaging do you use?

We use home compostable bags for all of our bulk food products. All of our packing labels and stickers are compostable so you can feel confident refilling your jars/containers without all the single use plastic. Our boxes are cardboard which is either curbside recyclable or backyard compostable. We use recycled paper tape with rubber adhesive to seal our boxes, which can also be composted or recycled. So nothing in your order is bound for the garbage can!

Please note- sometimes we reuse boxes to ship your order, so if you receive a box with plastic tape or another company label-we just wanted to give that box and tape one more working day before being recycled. This plastic tape will need to go in the trash before the box is recycled.

What if I don't compost?

If you don't compost, we highly recommend that you do 🙂 Composting is one of the best things we can do to help the planet. Sending food scraps to a landfill creates methane, and contributes to the warming of our planet. If you need tips on starting a compost checkout our blog page for some help steps to creating soil from your scraps.

What about the sizes?

For the most part, our bulk food is available in three size options to best accommodate your needs. Products are priced per pound or per ounce. All per pound products are usually available in 8 oz. / 16 oz. / 32 oz. options. Some of our lighter products (like teas and spices) are listed in smaller quantities. Think of it like small, medium, and large. Our smallest options are great for 1-2 person households, medium 2-3, and large 3-4. The larger options are great if it is something you use regularly.

How do I know my order was received?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive confirmation of your order and it will specify your delivery day under shipping.  You can also view your orders in your ‘My Account’ page.

How much does delivery cost?

We ship anywhere in the country at a flat rate of $6 and we offer free shipping on any orders over $100.

Where do you source your food from?

We use grass root distributors that work with small farmers within the USA and abroad. We ensure that we only buy food that is organic. We support organic farming practices and try to source heirloom varieties of grains or ancient grains, that are non-GMO.

We believe in supporting farmers that use regenerative agriculture practices to grow topsoil rather than erode it.  We try our best to source food that is fair trade if it is sourced from outside of the USA to ensure that everyone is paid properly and fairly for their labor.
