Our Organic Green Lentil is a hearty and delicious source of protein.
Lentils contain a high amount of magnesium, folate, soluble fiber, and iron. Of all legumes and nuts, lentils contain the third highest level of protein.
Excellent as a base for soups or stews. Pureed lentils make a great addition to muffin and loaf recipes, making them moist while adding fiber and protein.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Lentils
1 Cup Lentils
2 Cups Water
1/4 teaspoon salt
Rinse the lentils. Place the lentils in a strainer or colander. Pick out any shriveled lentils.
Combine the lentils and water in a small saucepan and add the water. Bring the water to a rapid simmer over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to maintain a very gentle simmer. Simmer the lentils uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes. Add more water as needed to make sure the lentils are just barely covered. Salt the lentils. Lentils are cooked as soon as they are tender and no longer crunchy.
